Definitely the 2MASS JHK in the infrared, and the Sloan Survey (SDSS)
which I think has other bands. The IRAS sky survey is a little dated
now and low resolution, but goes to much longer wavelengths.
ROSAT asnd EGRET for X-ray surveys.
In time one might want to tie into SuperWASP surveys, not only for
a recent image, but also a selection over time, or a light curve
(that's brightness against time). Likewise WFCAM will be important
in the future.
No doubt there are more given a little thought, but I leave room for
others to make suggestions.

Excellent. It's amazing what you can do with vi.
