Director of the Institute for German Studies (IGS)
We are seeking an exceptional candidate to become Director of the
University's Institute for German Studies. A new, permanent and named
Professorship, funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
and located within the IGS and the European Research Institute (ERI),
is attached to this position.
The successful candidate will have an international reputation,
including a substantial record of funded research and publication, in
any aspect of German and European Politics or Economics and will be
required to make a major contribution to research activity and
leadership. In addition to maintaining the Institute's unique role in
British-German relations, s/he will be expected to contribute to
teaching at graduate and doctoral level and also undertake significant
administrative and leadership duties relating to a Professorial post.
The position will attract a salary commensurate with the senior nature
of the duties involved.
