Gwelaf fod ymholiad ar 30 Hydref 2003 ynghylch "low-end data storage such as
smart cards", ond "low-end data storage" oedd yr ymadrodd dan sylw. Mae
rhaid, felly , fod yr ymholwr wedi gorfod cyfieithu "smart card" hefyd!
Mae'r ymadrodd sydd gen i yn dod fel rhan o restr: "Smart Cards (which
permitted access through the electronic locks), Identity Cards and Flexitime
Cards".
Yn ol safle ar y we: A smartcard is a plastic card containing a small chip
that includes a microprocessor and memory. The same size as a credit card,
it has gold contacts that allow other devices to communicate with the card.
It can contain more data than a magnetic strip and can be programmed to
reveal only the relevant information. For example, it could tell a device in
a store that there is sufficient balance in an account to pay for a
transaction without revealing the balance amount. Encryption techniques
secure the data, and the processor allows it to be programmed for different
applications. - felly yr ystyr Americanaidd eto.
Mae "Cardiau Clyfar/Call/Craff" yn swnio'n iawn. Efallai bod "craff" yn fwy
'parchus' a llai 'clyfar' na "clyfar"!? A oes 'na ymadrodd eisoes?
Diolch yn fawr,
Ann
