Dear urban geographers and urbanists:
The Urban Geography Research Group (UGRG) of the RGS-IBG seeks
proposals for sessions at next year's RGS-IBG Annual International
Conference, to be held 31st August - 2nd September 2005 at the
RGS-IBG, London.
The theme of the conference is "Flows and spaces in a globalised
world", with Allan Williams, University of Exeter as the conference
chair. The UGRG seek proposals for sessions, if possible under the
theme of the conference but other areas will be considered, which
might include some of the following:
a) Completed or ongoing research
b) Postgraduate student papers
c) Poster sessions (informal presentations)
d) Proposals for future projects
e) Panel discussions
f) Practitioner Forums
Each proposal should comprise of:
- abstract/outline of session proposal and the topics or themes it
would aim to address
- the format of the session (i.e. paper session, poster session, panel
discussion, practitioner forum, etc.)
- the number of modules the session would include
Proposals for sessions should be emailed, by no later than end of day
29 October 2004, to Scott Rodgers at: [log in to unmask]
After receiving proposals, the UGRG Committee will select those
session proposals it will forward to the RGS-IBG. The UGRG may submit
proposals for up to three sessions, and up to two joint sessions.
(e.g. joint with another research group or joint with the postgraduate
community).
We look forward to seeing some interesting and innovative session
proposals!
