Pat,
I've found a number of places where epochs were used instead of
equinoxes. Having changed them to what I think they should be, I get the
following:
I/p FK4 B1950 pos: 7 39 32.51 +36 41 51.9
O/p FK5 J2000 pos: 7 42 51.169 +36 34 43.66
I/p FK5 J2000 pos: 7 42 51.169 +36 34 43.66
O/p FK4 B1950 pos: 7 39 32.512 +36 41 51.81
This done with "Medium" precision. The classic COCO gives:
I/p FK4 B1950 pos: 7 39 32.51 +36 41 51.9
O/p FK5 J2000 pos: 07 42 51.169 +36 34 43.66
I/p FK5 J2000 pos: 07 42 51.169 +36 34 43.66
O/p FK4 B1950 pos: 07 39 32.510 +36 41 51.90
So the final conversion back to FK4 still gives slightly different
answers in java. Do you consider this to be significant?
