Subject: Joni Mitchell conference at McGill
>The Faculty of Music at McGill University will host a one-day symposium
on Oct.
27, 2004, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., exploring the music and art of Joni
Mitchell from many perspectives. The symposium is scheduled to coincide
with the presentation of an honorary doctorate from McGill to Ms.
Mitchell. Featured speakers will include Ann Powers, Jennifer Rycenga,
Udayan Sen, Daniel Sonenberg, Greg Tate, Jacqueline Warwick, and Lloyd
Whitesell. Respondents and moderators will include Howie Klein, Daniel
Levitin, and David Brackett. This event is open to the public.
Registration fees: Can $30/ US $25; Students: Can $15/US $10. (Free to
McGill
staff/students.) To preregister, please send a check or money order in
either currency made out to McGill University, to Lloyd Whitesell,
