The BUFVC, Iamhist and the Imperial War Museum are organsing a one-day
conference on 15 October on the state of history on television today. 'It
May Be History, But Is It True?' brings together leading academics,
archivists, producers and film researchers to discuss history and reality
television, dramatisation in history programming, the changing use of
archive film, and history programmes in the digital age. A programme is

will include David McNab, director of Virtual History: The Secret Plot to
Kill Hitler, Christine Whittaker, Toby Haggith, Denys Blakeway, Stephen
