TRACK COVERAGE:
The emergence of electronic business is one of the most profound changes
that revolutionized the process of buying, selling, and exchanging
products and services over the Internet. Companies across the world are
rapidly adopting e-business technologies. Estimates suggest that the
global e-business market will reach $527.2 billion by 2005. Organizations
and customers have access to vast amounts of data, information, and
services that are not limited in time or space. There is a growing demand
in electronic business research that will provide insights into issues,
challenges, and solutions related to the successful application and
management aspects of electronic business. The E Business Research track
of the IRMA International Conference invites papers that advance the
knowledge and practice of all facets of electronic business.

RECOMMENDED TOPICS:
E-Business Research Track encourages the submission of research papers,
and panel and workshop proposals in the following areas (but not limited
to):
• E-business models and architectures
• Applications of new technologies to e-business
• E-procurement methods
• E-business systems integration
• Electronic markets and infrastructures
• Trends in e-business models and technologies
• Electronic supply chain management and the Internet-based EDI
• Valuing e-business assets
• Evaluation methodologies for e-business systems
• E-business technology investment strategies
• E-business process modeling and simulation studies
• Intelligent agent technologies and their impacts
• Web-based languages, application dev. methodologies, and tools
• Developing and managing middleware to support e-business
• Digital libraries
• E-Business in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs)
• E-business in developing countries
• Methodological issues in e-business research
• The emergence of M-business

SUBMISSION CATEGORIES AND GUIDELINES:
Submissions for the IRMA2005 International Conference may be submitted in
the following categories (all submissions will undergo a blind, peer
review by at least three external expert reviewers):

Full Length Submissions:
Those individuals interested may submit a full length (not to exceed 3,500
words with a maximum of 5 figures/tables), original, and previously
unpublished, conceptual or empirical research manuscript for review and
decision. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings
in their entirety or as a 1500-2000 word mini-paper, as recommended by the
reviewers. High quality papers will be considered for further review and
possible inclusion in an IRMA official journal. In addition, the best
paper in terms of quality and suitability to the theme of the conference
will be awarded the "Best Paper" Award.

Research-in-Progress Submissions:
Those individuals interested may submit research-in-progress proposals
(abstracts) or a summary of tentative results of the study to date in 500-
1000 words by October 4, 2004. Authors of accepted proposals are asked to
forward a paper (not to exceed 2,000 words with a maximum of 3
figures/tables) by January 10, 2005 for inclusion in the conference
proceedings.

Panel, Workshop, Tutorial and Symposium Submissions:
Individuals interested in conducting a panel, workshop, symposium or
tutorial dealing with technological, managerial, professional, teaching,
societal, national or international issues of information technology
management are invited to submit a 500-1000 word proposal covering the
objectives, issues to be covered, and the names/addresses of any other
panel, workshop, tutorial/symposium members. Method of presentation is at
the submitter's discretion; however the submitter has the responsibility
for providing his/her own participants (such as panel members). All
accepted proposals will appear in the conference proceedings. (Note: All
panel, workshop, tutorial/symposium members must register and pay for the
conference.) Panel presenters should know that during the conference, an
LCD projector, screen and laptop computer will be provided by the
association for each presentation. Any additional equipment needed for the
panel, workshop, tutorial or symposium is at the discretion of the
presenter, and it will be his or her responsibility to provide the extra
equipment.

Submissions in all categories must follow the following guidelines:
(All submissions must be received by October 4, 2004.)

1. Manuscripts must not exceed 3500 words for full length submissions;
2000 words for research-in-progress summary/proposals; and 1000 words for
panel, workshop, tutorial and symposium proposals.
2. Manuscripts must be anonymous and must be accompanied by a separate
cover letter with every author(s) name, address, phone and fax numbers, e-
mail, full affiliation and the track to which it is submitted. All
correspondence will be sent to the first author unless otherwise specified.
3. Submitted papers must not currently be under review by any other
publication or conference.
4. Submitters must provide their e-mail address where the acknowledgment
will be forwarded.
5. The number of submissions by an author (including joint authorship) is
strictly limited to a maximum of two submissions.
6. All submissions MUST be submitted electronically in either MS Word,
rich text format (RTF) or PDF.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you do not receive an e-mail acknowledgment within two
weeks after your electronic submissions, please contact the program chair
immediately.

Accepted Manuscripts:
Authors of accepted manuscripts and proposals will be asked to provide the
final copy of the submission in MS Word or RTF format on diskette. Authors
of accepted papers (at least one person), panel, workshop, tutorial
session chairs and panel members MUST register and attend the conference.

LOCATION:
California's second largest city is know for its near-idyllic climate,
miles of pristine beaches and a dazzling array of world-class family
attractions, including the world-famous San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal
Park, Sea World San Diego and LEGOLAND California. San Diego, which
encompasses charming neighbourhoods and communities, includes downtown's
historic Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, Coronado, La Jolla, Del mar,
Carlsbad, Escondido and much more. To the east, the terrain varies from
gentle foothills to mile-high mountains. In the north, the land produces
quantities of flowers as well as quality grapes that become excellent
wines. The west features 70 miles of Pacific Ocean coastline, and the
south borders Mexico, featuring its own cultural offerings in various
towns along the border and coastlines.
