A oes rhywun wedi dod ar draws ffordd foddhaol o ddweud "British national"?
Mae gen i ryw gof i rywun (David Bullock?) dynnu fy sylw at y defnydd o'r
term "gwladolion" mewn dogfen ond rwy'n methu dod o hyd i'r cyfeiriad.
Mae GNyG a GyrA yn dweud rhywbeth fel "national (= citizen): dinesydd".
Ond rwy wedi cael y wybodaeth a ganlyn:
"A British citizen is entitled to particular extras, i.e. to live and work
in the UK, to participate in visa waiver schemes for various countries,
etc. The term British national covers all types of British status, i.e.
British citizen, British subject, British national (overseas), British
overseas citizen, British protected person, British overseas territories
citizen. The other types of British status mentioned above often need visas
to go to countries where British citizens don't need visas. They also don't
automatically have the right to live and work in the UK. By the way, a
British citizen may have been born in the UK or abroad, but almost always
has a close connection with the UK (i.e. either born here or with a parent
born here)."
Fe hola i ddydd Llun a ellir dweud "person o genedligrwydd Prydeinig".
Dydw i ddim yn hollol hapus ā "gwladolyn".
Diolch
