you are talking as if polpack doesn't use nbs, yet it contains this
code:

Are you saying that this is simply a cut and paste job from some generic
startcl init routine rather than a specific requirement of polpack that
NBS is initialised? [in which case it's probably worth removing that code
since you don't care].
It also seems that we need awish_link and atclsh_link scripts so that the
applications do not need to know that nbs is part of startcl.
