CALL FOR ARTICLES
Launching in October 2004, MoneyScience Financial Intelligence Network
aims to become the web's foremost resource for academics and practitioners
working in Finance and Physics, Economics and Applied Mathematics.
In the last 10 years a great deal has been done to promote dialogue and
collaboration between the disparate communities applying quantitative
methods to problems in finance. In that time an enormous amount of
progress has been made and yet the sheer diversity of communities involved
still creates barriers to communication which can be frustrating and
occasionally counterproductive.
Through discussion forums, a webzine and the MoneyScience Wiki, we aim to
provide a tolerant, interdisciplinary platform for constructive debate and
unbiased reportage, with the objective of forging consensus where at all
possible. All content will be available under a GNU Free Documentation
License a form of copyleft which means that any work derived from the
published material must be made available under the same terms.
MoneyScience operates on an open-source model and is commited to 3
principals: Share the work, share the goal, share the results.
We are seeking several kinds of contribution at this stage:
1. Articles and features reflecting individual experience of cultural
differences across the fields.
2. Project news: Do you have a research project that you would like to
publicise? Send us information and links.
3. Reviews and commentary on books, conferences and peer-reviewed
research.
4. Insights into the state-of-the-art and potential roadmaps for future
research.
And specifically to seed the MoneyScience Wiki which will be open to
community editing and review:
(What is a wiki anyway? - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki)
5. Short introductory guides to specific terminologies and concepts
carrying different meanings or significence to the various communities.
6. Short notes on 'need-to-know' conventions, standards of peer-review and
recommended practices across the different disciplines.
7. Brief outlines of curious or useful isomorphisms across the
disciplines.
