How about:
> Open Source Starlink
We have changed Starlink into a ``standard'' Open Source project. Now
(almost) all the software is in a public CVS repository, allowing more
people to contribute, and allowing us to use the many powerful open
source tools now available.
checkout, configure, make
As well as giving users access to bang-up-to-date versions, another
benefit of this work is the ability to build and run the Starlink
Classic software (KAPPA, GAIA etc) on a greater variety of systems. As
well as the current Solaris and Linux, a version of the USSC on OSX is
being beta-tested now, and a subset of the software now builds on MS
Windows.
Or perhaps you want to be vaguer about the OSX and Windows status.
I think Al would be the best person for pics. I haven't actually run
up GAIA on my machine yet, and my checkout is probably in a rather odd
state! I can try to do so if you're desperate, but I _really_ want to
get the autoconf stuff finished.
