Maybe we should respond? Not specifically a Starlink workshop of course
(nobody would come!), but something VO'y with a significant starlink slant
perhaps?
Anyone got any ideas?
Al.

Call for Workshop Proposals
ADASS XIV Conference
24-27 October 2004
Pasadena California, USA
The ADASS 2004 Local Organizing Committee is seeking proposals for a
workshop to take place on the Sunday afternoon preceding the ADASS
Conference (24 October 2004).
In recent years, the workshops have covered such topics as VO Software
and Standards, XML and Web Services for Astronomers, Software Engineering
best practices, Multi-scale Image and Data Analysis, and Python for
Scientific Computing. The available time slot is just over four hours in
duration (13:00 to 17:15), although the time need not be used in its
entirety.
Proposals for potential workshops should be submitted via e-mail to
[log in to unmask], with a copy to [log in to unmask] The proposal should
consist of a brief description of the workshop, including topics to be
covered and the proposed instructor. The proposals will be evaluated by
the Program Organizing Committee on criteria such as relevance and
timeliness of the subject, likely appeal to the ADASS participants,
completeness of the proposed contents, and the competence and experience
of the instructor. The POC reserves the right to decide not to have a
workshop/tutorial this year, though it is hoping for for a few exciting proposals.
All proposals should be received by Friday, 27 August 2004, in order
to receive full consideration.
Please forward this announcement to any of your colleagues who might be
interested in participating in ADASS http://adass.ipac.caltech.edu.
We look forward to seeing you in Pasadena!
Sincerely,
Arnold Rots, Chair
