Just have a look at http://www.textanalysis.info to find a lot of
information on different kinds of qualitative and other text analysis
software, including transcribing programs.
My advice: download the free test versions of the programs to see what suit
your needs best. BTW: there is no best program, you have to find out what
program is best for YOUR OWN research purposes.
NUD*IST is now renamed and can be found under the name N6 (and probably N7
in the next months).
In a paper presented at the ISA RC33 conference in Amsterdam this week
different QDA software programs were evaluated, one of the best were MAXQDA
and QDA-Miner.
