Not to get too PC about it, but aren't terms like "semi-functional brain" somewhat
antithetical to the spirit and purpose of this listserve? And, as much as I enjoy a
political debate, I am finding it rather dispiriting to have wade through posts that
don't even pretend to connect their content to disability-related issues.
Suggesting ways that Moore might have addressed impairment in his film
seems akin to suggesting that he, because he was making a film involving the
military, he should have dealt with the homophobic exclusion of gay people
from the U.S. military: must all discourse address all identity positions all the
time?
