Hi,
As part of the ELF d+ project (http://devil.lib.ed.ac.uk), I am
currently evaluating the existing standard metadata, wrapper like (e.g.
IMS content packaging) schemas as a means for transporting and
returning XML results during resource discovery search services. The
search protocol we are using (Search & Retrieve URL - SRU) defines a
content-package like results schema which allows heterogeneous
resources metadata (library, LOM) to be included.
To facilitate inter-functional (services) interoperability, we are
considering the feasibility of having the search services to return
multiple results formats, e.g. IMS Content Packaging and Resource List
- http://www.imsglobal.org/rli/ . We have started to experiment with
mapping library metadata at least to the resource metadata of RLI, see:
-
http://tweed.lib.ed.ac.uk:8080/elf/search/edinburghrli?
operation=searchRetrieve&query=title%20exact%20%22grid%22&maximumRecords
=5
Can't much RLI exemplars around for reference.. Also like to find out
more what people views are on the RLI spec, particularly on:

Best wishes
