Hi,
As a project for the JISC e-Learning Framework (ELF): Tool Development
programme, d+ aims to deliver a web services toolkit, in the form of an
open source institutional search engine, for repurposing existing
metadata from various library and public gateways. By assembling
existing software components including JAFER (http://www.jafer.org)
from the MDC project, we are currently testing a preliminary version of
the engine which can be installed and evaluated for local institutional
use scenarios, see:
- download: http://devil.lib.ed.ac.uk:8080/dplus/servicestoolkit.jsp
- guide: http://devil.lib.ed.ac.uk:8080/dplus/abouttoolkit.jsp
The search engine currently addresses Z39.50 gateways and maps
heterogeneous metadata to LOM:

It can be used as underlying services, i.e. a JISC ELF common service
for a variety of applications, e.g., the demonstrator
http://tweed.lib.ed.ac.uk:8080/elf/ (included in the toolkit). Please
see the project website for further details and current work:

Hacks and feedbacks are most welcome.
Bye.
