Does anyone know of the USSC running on Slackware 10, and any special
problems building our Classic code on this OS?
I've already responded to Daniel while Steve is away. It's not clear if
they've tried rebuilding under Slackware 10. Of course, I've suggested
that they get a recent release and mentioned the CVS/configure plan.

Subject: Starlink on Slackware Linux
Hi,
The problem is quite simple: how can I get the Spring
or Autumn 2002 version of Starlink to run under
Slackware Linux v10. Do you know if the latest
versions run under this kernel?
The logistics are a little convoluted.
Last year I installed Starlink at the Universidad de
Los Andes in Venezuela. This was the version compiled
under RedHat 7.3 and run under Mandrake Linux (I
forget which one). It worked fine as far as I could
tell. Of course now that I'm in the UK they've gone
and updated the whole network to Slackware 10 and
apparently Starlink no longer works. As the missionary
responsible for their partial conversion I do feel a
certain responsibility. I am not at the coal face so I
can't see what's going on, but if you have any advice
I would be most grateful.
Yours sincerely
Dr Daniel Pooley
