Hi David
we have had brief discussions with our E Government officer about this,
in which it was basically said this function is low down the pecking
order than many other things. As I understood it, though, it meant
people consulting you (which they almost certainly do, I hope!) for
advice or information rather than acting as an Archaeological
Consultant. So An online form giving people ways to ask for information
or advice on a development would be needed.
I have thought about this and the ideas resulted in us putting some
information pages online to try and help people ask us questions in a
way that we can answer more easily, but also mean they think about what
they want a bit, so we send them what they actually want rather than
what they may initially ask for. Don't know if I could say how
successful its been, but I have pointed people towards the pages for
complex queries and it seems to have been useful. If you follow the link
in my signature you should find the pages
hope that helps
best wishes

I have been asked by our internet administrator "Can you let me know
if
we provide archaeological consultancy as a service." I have asked for
clarification but he knows as little as I do. It involves designing an
electronic form for consultancy requests! Has anyone (if there is
anyone
not on holiday) out there had a similar request and, if so, what have
you said?
Thank You
