Competition C-3 "Identity Politics & Diversity" Research Cluster
HELP BUILD ONE OF THE WORLD'S TOP INSTITUTIONS
The University of British Columbia, ranked 35th
among the world's top 500 universities last year,
has an immediate need for 40 new research faculty
as it prepares to open a major new campus in
B.C.'s Okanagan Valley in September 2005.
Growing out of the current Okanagan University
College, UBC Okanagan has a mandate to develop
graduate programs, and double in size to 7,500
students by 2009.
The new campus will build on existing arts,
science, education, nursing, business and social
work programs. It will also build world-leading
research in areas such as sustainability
(including land, food and water systems and
conservation biology), society and culture,
indigenous studies, health and aging.
WORK IN A SUPER-NATURAL UNIVERSITY ENVIRONMENT
With an eventual need for 240 new positions
(including a number of Canada Research Chairs),
UBC's new campus offers an unbeatable academic
opportunity. Especially when you factor in a
superb Okanagan lifestyle. Just a 60-minute
flight from UBC's Vancouver campus, Kelowna is a
dynamic community of 100,000 people beside
Okanagan Lake surrounded by sandy beaches,
rolling vineyards and winter ski resorts.
