Subject: RSC/SCI Contaminated Land - Achievements & Aspirations Major
Conference - 2 weeks to go
Dear All
*** Book now ! http://www.soci.org.uk (search on Septembers conferences for registration form)
*** Multiple registration discounts now available
This new multidisciplinary conference aims to assess what has been achieved
since 1979 and to consider what now needs to be done.
Keynote speakers will include David Skinner, Stephen Tromans, David Barry,
Judith Lowe, Simon Pollard, Declan Barraclough, Mike Smith, Bob Harris, Hugh
Mallet, Sue Owen, Clive Thompson, Alan Higgins, Steve Wallace, Joop Harmsen,
David Westwood and Joop Vegter.
The RSC and SCI are running the above multidisciplinary conference from 12 -
15th September 2004 at Loughborough University. It will cover all aspects
of contaminated land and will be an ideal professional development
opportunity to bring yourself and/or your staff up to date on this complex
and contentious area.
The conference is also sponsored by the Environment Agency, SEPA and
FirstFaraday, and has been organised to celebrate the silver anniversary of
the first ever UK conference on contaminated land (Eastbourne 1979) which
was organised by SCI at the request of the Interdepartmental Committee on
the Redevelopment of Contaminated Land (ICRCL) in Eastbourne in 1979. The
aims of that conference were to start debate within the professions and to
provide "state of the art" information across a wide spectrum of subjects
and disciplines.
The detailed programme for this important conference is now available on SCI
's web site at http://www.soci.org.uk <http://www.soci.org.uk/> from which
the summary programme and registration forms can also be downloaded (on-line
registration is also available). For a given organisation, there is a
multiple registration discount offer. (See website)
