Just a quick note to let you all know that I got ORAC-DR "working" using
the Starlink software as built from CVS. I had to install Starperl and
related modules along the way.
A few notes for Perl modules:
- to get Proc::ProcessTable working on OS X I had to download 0.39 off
CPAN, then go to Sourceforge and get a patch for darwin. The stock 0.39
won't work on darwin.
- Tk804.025 beta8 or higher will build on 10.3, so I installed 804.027.
- don't run 'make clean' for Starlink::AMS if you don't have to, as it
removes the Starlink/AMS/Core directory thanks to OS X's brilliant
case-handling file system.
I installed Perl into $STARCONF_DEFAULT_PREFIX/Perl, just as it is on a
regular Starlink release, so for me the Perl binary is in
/local-star/Perl/bin/perl.
Tim still needs to tweak starversion in Starlink::Versions to use manifest
files properly.
I say that ORAC-DR is "working" because it communicates properly with
monoliths (well, just ndfpack_mon and kappa_mon for now because I haven't
got any of the other apps built yet), but KAPPA/THRESH is complaining that
the minimum value for THRLO is -1.4e-45 when I'm trying to set it to
-3422. The error I get when trying the command manually is:
% thresh
IN - NDF to have thresholds applied /@u20040705_00009/ >
u20040705_00009_raw
OUT - NDF to hold data after application of thresholds > 9_thr
THRLO - Lower threshold cutoff > -3422
!! SUBPAR: -3422 is less than the MINIMUM value, -1.4012984643482e-45, for
parameter THRLO.
! SUBPAR: Failed constraints check for parameter THRLO
THRLO - Lower threshold cutoff > 0
NEWLO - New value for pixels below lower threshold > bad
THRHI - Higher threshold cutoff > 27.647
NEWHI - New value for pixels above upper threshold > bad
There were 367 elements changed in the DATA array below the threshold.
There were 2775 elements changed in the DATA array above the threshold.

ORAC-DR also successfully communicates with GAIA. The values it was trying
to feed into THRESH it obtained from STATS, so two-way communication with
monoliths works.
Cheers,
Brad.
