excellent thought!
as a matter of fact in NSW (Australia), the state WorkCover Authority
(worker's compensation) is "redirecting" the emphasis on the cognitive
behavioural approach (CBA) in management of m/s pain especially back pain
for those patients that may have yellow flags and score high on the OREBO
questionnaire - in fact by the end of this year they are providing courses
in CBA for physios which you will need to complete to be entitled to the
full fee for treating w/comp patients.
unless they have red flags, the xrays and scans are the exception rather
than the rule
Cheers,
Anna.

much on imaging and pharmacology with new qualifications when it is clear
that MDs have that field covered and it has worked for years that we refer
back if we need further investigation etc.

counselling and other psychology related areas given the evidence of Wadell
etc that so much of LBP (the majority of musculoskeletal work) relates to
this rather than the physical aspect?
