The Amatas conference seeks to examine and discuss a set of questions
about how teaching English Studies, American Studies and Literature
courses through the lens of the Atlantic and what opportunities or
pitfalls such an "aquatic form" might involve. It also hopes to
provide entry points for teachers of English and American Literature
and American Studies into an Atlantic approach and create a forum of
discussion about its effects. First 25 delegates to register will have
