Research Fellow (Ref: 2211)
Circa £23,000 per annum
Three year externally funded project
To develop a new technique, using eye movements, to enable disadvantaged individuals control electronic devices. Candidates should have a PhD in a suitable scientific subject such as Imaging, Computing, or Machine Vision.
Research Studentship (Ref: 2212)
Bursary Available
A research studentship (David Wooding memorial) is offered to work alongside the ART research project. Candidates should have a good first degree (2:1 or higher) in Psychology or Ergonomics.
EPSRC funded EPAULETS (Enhanced Perceptual Anti-terrorism Universal Luggage Examination Training System) project.
Research Assistant (Ref: 2213)
Circa £19,000 per annum
Three year externally funded project
To develop a new visual search training system to aid detection of possible threat items in air passenger baggage. Candidates should have an MSc or a good first degree (2:1 or higher) in an appropriate subject such as psychology, ergonomics or HCI and must have some programming experience and interest in visual search processes.
Research Studentship (Ref: 2214)
Bursary Available
EPSRC funded studentship to research on this project. Candidates should have a good first degree (2:1 or higher) in psychology or ergonomics.
Improved Staining of Cervical Smears (Ref: 2216)
Research Assistant - supported by the NHS Cervical Screening Programme
Circa £18,000 per annum
Temporary 1 year externally funded project
To examine variability in the current coloured staining of cervical smears and to inform strategies for smear staining designed to achieve standardised, best optimal colour and saturation. Candidates should have an MSc or good first degree (2:1 or higher) in an appropriate subject area such as colour imaging science.
