Hello All,
as you may recall there was an ERPANET seminar on persistent identifiers in
Dublin last month. Fabio Simeoni of the Hairst Project at Strathclyde
University went and kindly agreed to share a report of it with the SIG.
[Well, CETIS paid him, which was pretty kind as well :-) ]
The report, which covers what was said about Handles, DOIs, the INFO URI
scheme, PURLs, various URN namespaces, and DOIs (again), can be found as a
pdf file here:
<http://hairst.cdlr.strath.ac.uk/documents/Erpanet%20Training%20Seminar%20on%20Persistent%20Identifiers.pdf>
If you have any problems with that URL, try going to the Hairst Resources
page <http://hairst.cdlr.strath.ac.uk/resources.htm> and following the link
"F.Simeoni, A report on the Erpanet Seminar on Persistent Identifiers,
17-18 June 2004, Cork, Ireland ;" that is towards the end of the
"presentations & publications" section. (Actually, it's worth following
several of those links, but I digress...)
Many thanks to Fabio for the prompt writing of this report. You're welcome
to post comments/discussion arising from the report to this list.
Best wishes, Phil
