ADVANCE NOTICE and CALL FOR INVOLVEMENT
INDIA HCI 2004
..the first all India HCI conference in association with IESUP and the
Computer Society of India
IHCI 2004
between 26 and 27 November 2004
in Bangalore, India
With additional industry sponsorship we expect to be able to combine
internationally recognised keynote speakers form both Europe and the
United States. In addition the conference will provide a showcase for
the 'state of the art' within Indian HCI.
Overall our aim is to support the institutionalization of Indian HCI
both nationally and internationally both in industry and in academia.
IHCI2004 will have a number of strands including:
(i) Keynotes from US / European / Indian speakers
(ii) Formal research papers, selected through a peer review process by
an international Programme Committee
(iii) Case study / workshop based activities.

Call for Nominations for Programme Committee
The membership of the Programme Committee will be confirmed by 19 July
2004. It will be chaired by Professor Anirudha Joshi of IIT Mumbai. The
Secretary will be Kaushik Ghosh of HFI. Other key HCI experts in India
are currently being invited to join the Programme Committee. Other
nominations including suggestion for key themes are invited by 12 July

Call for volunteers for Organizing Committee
Logistics for the conference will be managed through an Organsing
Committee chaired by Iqbal Ahmed. Volunteers to join this committee

Apex Committee
The Apex Committee chaired by Dr Andy Smith and Sanjay Prasad (IESUP
Co-Conveners) overseeing the programme will consist of the Programme and
Organising Committee Chairs and other members co-opted from time to
time.
IESUP is a project sponsored by the Asia ITC programme of the European
Commission. It is managed by the Computer Society of India, the British
Computer Society / British HCI Group and the Universities of Limerick,
Uppsala and Luton.
