Mark & Norman (mostly),
as promised I'd had a look at the Windows issues with accessing the NDXs
in the Treeview demo, when there are spaces in the directory names. These
are mostly fixed and you'll see various small tweaks (using the correct
file separator, converting between filenames, URLs and URIs avoiding
various problems with spaces etc.) in HDX, HDS, UTIL, TABLE and FITS on
the main trunk. There may be more issues that just haven't shown up.
The build system needed a couple of fixes (ANT and FITS), but seems to
work under Cygwin pretty much as it does under Linux now and the tests run
with similar problems too.
Playing around with all this has left me with the impression that the URL
class is a mess, as it's possible to construct illegal states quite
easily, and it offers little to help you out of the mess. URI seems a much
better formulated class, so should probably be the one to use when there's
a choice.
Peter.
