Hi Andrea - such a good idea to get this info off the link!
As you probably know, I am (like you) just doing this although it's
outside my official job description. This includes
- making the links explicit between what exists (CDM/ CDL) and the
requirements of PDP - writing papers to this effect, presenting at
Academic Board and Faculty meetings, etc.
- supporting staff in developing customised PDP modules (based on the
existing CDM template) and getting them through validation boards
- demonstrating resources (eg CMS ONline) and giving them access to
everything we hold and are developing
- designing new course material in relation to the differing needs of
faculties / schools
- providing ongoing staff development to staff involved in designing
and delivering modules within the 'PDP spine' here (anything from
informal work with individuals to formal 'training' for whole
departments
- (providing consultancies externally as well! - after I came to UCN I
have done something similar for UEL, AGCAS event and the GO-Wales
project)
- attending external training events and conferences on PDP and
employability-related topics, and disseminating the outcomes internally
to those who may be interested.
Enough for now i think!
Hope all is well with you - speak soon (we must meet!)

Dear all
I would be grateful if any of you whose job role concentrates on PDP
development/co-ordination/facilitation could send me a brief outline of
your
job description. We have no such post here but I am increasingly doing
it in
my 'spare' time as a careers adviser! I need to put something on paper
detailing the responsibilities involved, including co-ordinationd
devts.
staff training/consultancy etc.
Many thanks in anticipation
Andrea Duncan
