One thing I forgot at the programmers meeting:
Norman - Before the meeting can you install the IBM compiler set for Mac
OSX. I think there is a 90 day trial for both the C and fortran
compiler. It'll be good to have a compiler that is not g77.
(since no-one will be bringing up an alpha or sun).

PS Looking to the future Brad tells me that g77 is a dead duck:

and G77 replaced with GFORTRAN: http://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gfortran/
but it's not clear how usable gfortran is at the moment for F77 programs.
