Absolutely so. The question I would ask is "If the information posted on
your intranet were produced on one of the more traditional media (e.g. a
poster, newsletter, memorandum etc), what would the retention period be?" In
many organisations, retention policy for intranets, extranets and internet
sites is rather lacking.

Surely the archive period is related to the functionality of the content.
If, for example, the web page is a financial inducement for, say, early
enrolment to a training course then it would form part of a financial
contract and should be retained as long as the rest of your financials.
