The International Higher Education Support Program (HESP)
promotes the advancement of higher education within the
humanities and social sciences throughout the region of
Central ,Southeast and Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union
and Mongolia.
The Budapest office is now searching for:
POSITION TITLE Academic and Alumni Program Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
Academic and Alumni Program Manager reports directly to the
Program Director. Academic and Alumni Program Manager is
responsible to promote the development of academic networks and
initiatives in the target regions; to develop and implement
Program alumni relations strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the
following:
Encourage and facilitate the development of academic
partnerships and initiatives in social sciences and humanities
within the framework of the program;
Work with the Region Managers and Country Coordinators
to develop and coordinate activities for the professional
development of local faculty;
Coordinate and manage academic and alumni activities;
Develop strategy for the increased involvement of
alumni in the ongoing projects and initiatives;
Supervise and support the development of alumni tracking
database;
Plan, coordinate and help to implement alumni events;
Support alumni networking;
Develop and help to implement the new Returning Scholars
Alumni Program (RSAP);
Assist to set up Academic Advising Councils (AAC) for
the program and promote their involvement in the process;
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING
A Masters degree or equivalent. in education, public
administration, social studies/humanities and/or other relevant
discipline;
EXPERIENCE
At least three years experience in a managerial capacity;
Experience and competencies in working in a multicultural
environment; experience and or understanding of the development
of educational programs;
CREDENTIALS AND/OR SKILLS & ABILITIES
An advanced command of the English Language and ability to
communicate at least in one of the regional languages; extensive
program management and planning skills; excellent communication
skills;
