To my friend and colleague John,
I would like to thank you for your efforts to broaden my knowledge base by calling on other's for advice via the list. Unfortunately, I had written the e-mail to you and another close friend whom we have both worked with, resulting in the rather vague wording of my original e-mail. Had I known it was to be posted for all to read, I would have asked for specific information, but the intention of my e-mail was to provide an outline of the topics I had a choice of, before we met formally to discuss the issue further. The other friend I sent the e-mail to is a Guidance Counsellor, and as the Master's degree I am undertaking is in Guidance Counselling, I felt he may have had valuable advise as to which topic would be more beneficial in the 'real world'. As we all know, regardless of the subjects chosen, there are always a number of requirements that are merely testing one's ability to jump through the hoops. At the current level of my studies, I wish to minimise these as much as possible in order to learn the knowledge and skills that will enable me to preform my job to the best of my abilities.
To all of the people, who responded with helpful advice, I would like to thank you. To the rest, I am at a loss as to why you would waste your time disputing the validity of my request.
Debbie
