Design History Society Scholarship Prize
The Design History Society Scholarship Prize was founded in 2000. The prize
of £2000 is awarded to an individual or group for work that has appeared in
the public domain during the previous two years which has made a significant
contribution to the field of design history. This may be achieved by depth
of research, by major methodological or theoretical contributions, or by
demonstration of the value of design historical investigation to other
academic disciplines. Design History is defined in broad and inclusive terms
and is characterised by a range of work published in the Society's Journal
of Design History in conjunction with Oxford University Press
(http://www.jdh.oupjournals.org). Books and other realisations of
scholarship such as exhibition catalogues and electronic formats are
eligible for nomination.
You are invited to submit your nominations for this prestigious prize, due
to be awarded in September at the Annual Conference of the Design History
Society. Nominators must be members of the Society. To be valid, your
nomination should provide full details of the book or other work being
nominated: author, full title and subtitle, publisher, place and date of
publication and ISBN number (if appropriate). Most importantly, you should
include your reasons for nominating and your name. Nominations should be
sent in writing or by email to :
