Lecturer (Fixed-term)
Applications are invited for the above post from candidates with a proven
research track record in the field of new learning technologies. The School
appointment will be made in partnership with the Learning Sciences Research
Institute, which was established as a strategic university initiative
between the Schools of Computer Science and IT, Education and Psychology in
2002. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of
the Institute and will be expected to develop new research initiatives in
novel technologies to support new kinds of learning. The Lecturer will also
play a significant role in establishing a new taught postgraduate programme
in advanced interactive technologies for learning, and in doctoral
supervision.
Candidates should have a PhD in computer science, or another closely related
discipline, together with strong evidence of existing research work and the
potential for future research at an international level. Preference will be
given to candidates with a track record in attracting external funding of
research and those with demonstrable experience of working in relevant
interdisciplinary teams.
Salary will be within the range £22,954 - £34,838 per annum, depending on
qualifications and experience. This post will be offered on a fixed-term
contract for a period of three years.
