The last patient had their previous booster 19 years ago..... I just doubt
whether their antibody levels were sufficiently high to confer immunity.
Some serum was kept in storage by Biochemistry when she was first admitted
(prior to symptoms) so I'll see if the microbiologists are interested in
sending the sample off.
Nothing is 100%... there is even a case described of a patient getting
tetanus despite immunoglobulin being given.... the person just didn't get
enough (compound fractured femur)
