THROUGH THE LOOKING-GLASS:
Meeting the skills challenge
St Catherine's College, Oxford, 15-18 July 2004

Topics such as Knowledge management and knowledge mapping; Advanced teaching skills for librarians; Web content authorship and Mentoring are intended not only to introduce recent developments and theories in the information profession but also to assist delegates in their ongoing career development choices.
Speakers have been invited from a variety of backgrounds, including:
Mary Canavan, Director of Human Resources at the British Library
Irja Laamanen, Director of Information Services for the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health
Nick Willard, ASLIB
Sue Hill of Sue Hill Recruitment
Antony Brewerton from Oxford Brookes University
Tim Wilson Keeper, Department of Western Art, Ashmolean Museum
Oxford is the home of Britain's oldest University, and this ancient and beautiful city has a great deal to offer anyone interested in art, design, architecture and libraries! Study visits and receptions will include The Bodleian, the Ruskin digitisation project at the Ashmolean, St John's College Library and Garden Room and Modern Art Oxford.
Designed by Danish architect Arne Jacobsen, and described by Pevsner as "a perfect piece of architecture", St Catherine's College allows delegates to enjoy the benefits of modern facilities, whilst being a short walk from the dreaming spires of traditional Oxford.
