ReDReSS Project (The)
Description: This is the Web site of ReDReSS, the Resource Discovery for Researchers in e-Social Science project. The project aims to "raise awareness and accelerate the development of a new kind of computing and data infrastructure to support the increasingly national and global collaborations emerging in many areas of social science." The project also focuses on promoting e-Social Science methodologies and technologies and a new kind of data management infrastructure for the social sciences. The project is building a Web-based resource discovery portal which aims to bring together all resources that are of value to e-social scientists. The ReDReSS project is funded by JISC, the ESRC, Lancaster University and CCLRC Daresbury.

Madrid 3/11: Time Magazine
Description: This site provides access to a special issue of current affairs magazine Time. It contains several articles which discuss the Madrid train bombings of March 2004. These include coverage of the terrorist attacks, discussions of the possible suspects (Al-Qaeda and ETA)and analysis of terrorism in Spain and railway security in Europe. The materials were published several days after the attacks.

Year After the Iraq War: Mistrust of America in Europe Ever Higher, Muslim Anger Persists
Description: This site provides access to the text of a report which was published in March 2004 by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press. It contains the results of a global public attitudes survey towards the 2003 Iraq War and the foreign policy of the United States. Topics covered include: whether the war against Saddam Hussein was justified and satisfaction ratings of US foreign policy and the role of the UN. The study reveals marked dissatisfaction especially amongst Muslims. Information on the survey methodology is provided.

Constitution Project at the Federal Trust
Description: This is the web site of a project managed by the Federal Trust. It seeks to analysis theories of federalism and constitutionalism in relation to the future development of the European Union and an EU constitution. The web site provides access to news headlines and full text pamphlets, papers and reports relating to the Future of Europe debate, the Intergovernmental Conference (IGC), the European Convention, EU constitution and UK relations with the EU. All aspects of the political and legal implications of future development are considered. The site also lists forthcoming events. Users may sign up to receive regular newsletters.

ODIHR Election Observation Mission Of the Russian Presidential Elections 14th March 2004
Description: This site provides access to some preliminary findings of the mission organised OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights. It reviews the conduct of the election for Russian president in terms of such factors as the overall political environment, the existence of political opposition, the freedom of the media, registration of candidates, and administration of the voting. An assessment of the role of President Putin is also made. Users should note that the full text is in pdf format and therefore requires access to an Adobe Acrobat Reader for use.

Vietnam Project: Texas Tech University
Description: This site is maintained by Texas Tech University. It is creating a virtual archive of online materials relevant for the study of all aspects of the Vietnam War. These include over 1.5 million documents, photographs, video and sound recordings and oral histories. They encompass letters from Vietnam Veterans and official government histories, plus accounts of battles. The site is also developing a number of useful reference databases. These include a listing of acronyms of the Vietnam war, a history of significant operations and a teachers resource guide.
