Chaps,
I had a chat with DLG earlier. We'll be taking the new demo laptop, my
PC, Dave's laptop, and possibly Alan's former PC. The idea is to
organise all the required files on the demo laptop by late Wednesday
evening, to give us two clear days for testing. I'm trying to use a few
environment variables for the scripts and data to make the transfer
easier. We can put in the odd code update for bug fixes and any
supa-dupa new features we want to show, but with a fall-back version in
case the latest code proves not to be as robust as needed. At the
moment we don't know if we have Internet access.
If you have any new, topical data, for the demonstrations, please let me
know where to copy them from. Also it would help if authors provide
some crib sheets for those of us not familiar with the new software or
jaw-dropping new features. I do have some older outlines for TOPCAT and
SPLAT, and FROG. I could do with some description of how to demonstrate
autoastrom, say in the GAIA context; the Javaspaces/web service; AST
(albeit indirectly via some applications) and anything else we're
showing.
We'll making printouts of the posters.
Which paper documents should we take along, if any? We'll presumably
need the one that goes with the CD, SUN/212.
