Brief description
By the date of this event your institution will be in the throws of
preparing its publication scheme for submission to the Scottish
Information
Commissioner as the first stage towards compliance with the Freedom of
Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
The Act has raised many issues for Further and Higher education
sectors in
Scotland. This briefing day will highlight the publication scheme and
the
help available to sectors and experiences so far. The event will also
look
at areas of particular concern including the public interest test,
commercial interests and confidentiality. In a full programme it will
also
look at the steps institutions need to consider achieving full
compliance
with the legislation from 1 January 2005.
How will you ensure compliance on an ongoing basis beyond that date?
How
advanced is your institutional Records Management and can it cope with
FOI?
How will your institution handle requests?
The briefing day will highlight the issues and make recommendations.
The programme includes discussion sessions, opportunities for
