there is definitely *no* "*qualitative*" software that can help you in the
translation process. Translation software exists, of course, but (a) its
results are mediocre at best, and (b) there is nothing "qualitative" about
that software. If you really intend to do some "qualitative" (do you mean
"interpretative"?) analysis of Portuguese texts in an English research
environment (or, if you want to compare English and Portuguese texts), it
is IMO imperative that you do a pedestrian translation (I would advise that
for "quantitative" analyses as well). Some help for translations you can

But all these resources are of any help only, if you have already a
reasonable feel for both languages.
If, on the other hand, you are merely looking for "qualitative" software
(do you mean "CAQDAS" by that term?) that can handle Portuguese special
characters, rest assured that all newer CAQDAS are able to do that.
