Dear all, This has been a busy month so far for the NRICH team, with an
event to celebrate the official launch of our new site held at the Royal
Society in London on March 10th. It was a great success and we would like
to thank everyone who supported us. We hope that you are gradually becoming
accustomed to the changes we have made to the website and are finding it
easier to use. Remember that with the improved search facilities, you can
look for problems by mathematical topic in the Maths Finder, or by typing
in a keyword. You can tailor the keyword search so that a particular type
of resource with appropriate content and challenge levels will be
displayed. We continue to value your feedback and if you would like to have
a visit from one of us to talk about your use of the new site, please let
us know. The website theme this month is "Codes and Hidden Meaning". When
compiling the problems, we were surprised at how many codes we had come
across and how much mathematical scope they offer. If you have not already
delved in, there is still time. In addition, don't forget the weekly
problem - a great way to start your Monday mornings, although you'll have
to wait until the following Monday for the solution! A new article is
published on each tier this month - read up on the history of Morse Code,
discover how code breaking is used by spies and secret agents, or find out
about Public Key Cryptography. And of course there will be plenty more
exciting and challenging mathematics from NRICH in the coming months.
With best wishes from all at NRICH.
