"First Islamic Countries' Legal Medicine Congress"

Dear colleagues;

It's my pleasure to announce you that "The First Legal Medicine Congress
of Islamic Countries" aiming at coordinating and distributing experts
views on the scientific, religious and jurisprudence aspects of forensic
medicine, will be held in Tehran, from 24 - 26 June, 2004.

Long time has been passed since the first efforts were made for
incorporating Islamic realities with scientific achievements, but now is
the epoch of revolutionary scientific triumphs that would need more
attention with wider cross-continental attendance of different Islamic
countries to come to a scientific partnership aiming at integration of
scientific issues within Islamic Shariah.

Authorities, researchers, scientists and specialists participating from
all over the world will exchange their information and experiences in
this three day meeting. Abortion, cloning, assisted reproductive
technology, restitution, sex change operation, age and puberty
determination, transplantation, brain death, medical ethics and new
achievements in forensic medicine are among the main objectives to be
pondered in this congress, for coming to a more precise, deliberated
attitude over these topics.

Tehran is the capital of Iran where this great congress is going to be
held. It has a rich heritage of culture. Its attractions include the
Sadabad and Golestan palace museums, Carpet museum of Iran and a lot of
other excellent art and pottery galleries. We sincerely welcome your
