A one day Goldsmiths College inter-departmental symposium for all those
with a research, teaching or learning interest in sound.
Organised by the Screen School & the Electronic Music Studio
To be held on Thursday 27th May in the Small Theatre, Goldsmiths College.
Invitation for presentations:
Sound is emerging in a number of disciplines as a focus of interest and
research. Each brings its own frame of reference and way of
grasping Sonic Subjects and Acoustic Objects. This one day Symposium aims
to provide a forum for this emerging area of intellectual enthusiasm for
those within the College who would like to present research, make
connections and discuss ideas.
Areas of interest might include, but are not restricted to: acoustic
ecology,soundscapes, sound art, sound and film, audio-visuals, the senses,
audification, listening, hearing, the voice, radio studies, noise.
If you have an interest in presenting or attending please send an abstract
of no more than 400 words to [log in to unmask], introducing the subject
you would like to talk about. Abstracts must be received by the 31st March.
