Next Monday's public seminar at NatCen still some has places available...
Jane Fountain (reader in Health and Ethnicity) and Professor Kamlesh Patel
(Head of the Centre for Ethnicity and Health) from the University of
Central Lancashire. The seminar is on:
Community engagement: widening the knowledge base on drug use amongst
Black and minority ethnic communities
The presentation will highlight a number of barriers to widening the
evidence base on drug use amongst Black and minority ethnic communities.
The Centre for Ethnicity and Health's model of community engagement is
designed to dismantle those barriers. Community engagement creates the
environment where communities and agencies can work together on an issue
to raise awareness, assess need and achieve sustained and equitable
provision of appropriate services.
Copies of two reports from the first phase of the Community Engagement
Project will be available to attendees at the seminar.
The seminar is from 4.45-6pm. At NatCen, 35 Northampton Square, London,
EC1V 0AX (nearest tubes Angel and Farringdon)
