Dear all,
I just wanted to remind you, or those of you within striking distance,
that the second annual British and Irish Spenser Seminar will be taking
place at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, on Saturday, 1st May,
2004. Our guiding topic for this year is 'Spenser and Philosophy'. If
you'd like to come, we'd be very happy to have you!
Our plenary speakers for this year are Gordon Teskey (Harvard), on
'Hallucination'; Tony Nuttall (New College, Oxford) on 'Elizabethan
Alienation'; Martin Dzelzainis (Royal Holloway, London) on 'Hidden
Powers'; and Paul Suttie (Cambridge), on 'The Lost Cause of Platonism'. We
are also still accepting proposals for panel papers (till next
weekend-ish), so if you'd like to make a late offering, it's late but not
too late!
We expect to have a very fine day of talks and discussion, and I hope some
of you will be able to join us.
Thanks,
andrew
