Can anyone help?
I have been using an Olympus DM-1 for recording one to one depths, but I
have difficulty emailing them to my transcription agency. Most the files
are too large at around 8Mb. I use the standard recording setting and could
use a long play setting, but I think that would reduce the sound quality, so
I don't really want to take that route.
What I would like to do is to cut the file in half and send it as two files.
(The kind of thing I regularly do with Powerpoint files that are too large
for client firewalls.) I can't see how to do it and our multimedia
department here didn't seem to have the right software either to open it
and/or edit it. Does anyone know of some easy to use software?
I was also hoping to be able to use sound clips in presentations, so I am a
bit frustrated. I want to be able to pick out 30 seconds of speech. I can
convert the .DSS to a .WAV or to an MP3 file, but it would be much neater if
I could stick with the .DSS file.
Olympus does offer a transcription software package, but I am not sure if it
can be used for this purpose.
So any thoughts would be gratefully received.
