Defra has published draft guidance on "Remediation of Land Affected by
Contamination" which aims to "improve understanding of what the different
regulatory regimes require in terms of investigative and remedial works".
The draft can be accessed at
www.defra.gov.uk/corporate/consult/land-remediation/index.htm
The guidance is in response to the "Remediation Permit - Towards a Single
Regeneration Licence" report recommendation for an integrated guide to set
out clearly the current regulatory approaches.
The deadline for comments is 16 June 2004
