Dear Martin,
and what about not to think of splitting the file by means of editing it as
a SOUND file, but rather by means of splitting in just as ANY OTHER KINDS of
files (and putting therm together into a single file again after the
transfer)? E.g., you can create zip archive (zip the file) and choose to
split the archive into several files (you can set the size of the files).
There are some other utilities that can handle the task, I believe, for
instance, Total Commander (formerly Windows Commander) has a command for
splitting a file into smaller ones. And probably there also are special
utilities that do no require the receiver to have them to be able to join
the parts together again. I think this might solve your troubles.
