In the course of my research into LockwoodKipling's
drawings, especially at the V&A Museum, I have
notedthat Flora Annie Steel's Tales of the Punjab
told by thepeople, Macmillan and Co, London, 1917, has
illustrations byLockwood. These include native people
andanimals. I have noticed that the V&A
includessome drawings used in his Beast and Man in
India; the V&Aaccessions book does not refer to
Steel's Tales, nor the Kipling Archive(Sussex Univ.)
which also has a large number of JLK drawings
of1870-90.
Does anyone know of the survival of drawings used for
the PunjabTales?
